Pentwater, Michigan is renowned for its sandy public beach along the fresh-water shore of Lake Michigan. This is one of the premier beaches in West Michigan.
Pentwater beach is part of Charles Mears State Park, and stretches to the North for nearly a quarter mile from the channel pier and lighthouse. Charles Mears is one of the few campgrounds in Michigan that is located along the shore.
Fun on Lake Michigan
Warm summer days will bring crowds of sun-bathers and swimmers to Pentwater beach. This beautiful stretch of sand will be a bustle of sand castles, kites, beach volleyball, water toys, and family fun.
Pentwater Beach has a safe swimming area marked by several buoys. Boats are not allowed here. There's no life guard on duty, but a yellow or red flag will warn of dangerous swimming conditions.
