Pentwater For Kids
Pentwater, Michigan is a magical place for children of all ages. The small town laid-back atmosphere offers a safe place for kids to play and explore, and beautiful Lake Michigan provides long afternoons of fun in the water. From riding bicycles and skateboards, to climbing Mount Baldy, to playing football on the beach, Pentwater is a destination your kids will want to return to year after year.
Below are some of the preferred Pentwater activities for children and young adults:
DAYS AT THE BEACH
It's no secret that children of all ages LOVE the water and the warm sand at the beach, and Pentwater offers the perfect waterside escape for families with kids. The public, white sand beach is raked, paroled, and kept clean for visitor safety and enjoyment. Both wide and long, Pentwater beach is large enough that there is plenty of room for sun bathers, kite flying, volleyball and football competitions, Frisbee tossing and sandcastles. Also, a Beach Store and public restrooms are located on site to manage lunch time and bathroom visits, and two beach playgrounds are there to keep the kids entertained (if they grow tired of the water... not likely).

CLIMBING MOUNT BALDY
This long sand dune rises from the east side of Charles Meers State Park, and a race down its face is one of the favorite things to do for visiting children. Something so simple ends up being very memorable for the young at heart. To summit Baldy, there is also a board walk / hiking trail that winds through the woods beginning at the north end of the campground (next to the rest rooms and bath house). The hiking trail also offers a lookout deck with excellent views of the lake, piers, and lighthouses. Kids will love it, and adults will love that they love it.

Mac Wood's Dune Rides in nearby Silver Lake, Michigan offer visitors a rare and exciting tour of Michigan's impressive coastal sand dunes. Climbing up, rushing down, and gliding along this unique sandscape will surely be one of the favorite moments of your West Michigan vacation!
